YINGBA · CARBIDE CNC CUTTING TOOLS
Aluminum Cutting Router Bits
Single-flute and tapered end mills built for aluminium, brass, bronze and aluminum composite panel.
Uncoated · Rainbow coated · 3.175 to 8 mm shanks
Quick answer: YINGBA aluminum cutting router bits are solid carbide end mills with a single-flute geometry developed for aluminium and other non-ferrous and plastic materials. The open single flute clears chips fast, which keeps heat out of the cut and prevents the built-up edge that ruins an aluminium finish. Two families are available — a single flute end mill for edge work and profile cutting, and a tapered end mill with a fine tip radius for detail and engraving work.
Materials and machines
These tools are specified for non-ferrous metals and plastics rather than for wood-based panel work. That is a deliberate distinction: aluminium needs a sharp, highly polished edge and a geometry that ejects chips quickly, because the failure mode is a welded chip rather than a torn fibre.

Single flute end mill for aluminum

Available uncoated or with a rainbow multi-colour coating. The coating option is normally chosen when the tool sees continuous production and the extra edge life is worth the cost.
| Shank (mm) | Cutting diameter (mm) | Cutting length (mm) | Overall length (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.175 | 2 – 3.175 | 6 – 22 | 38 – 45 |
| 4 | 4 | 12 – 22 | 45 |
| 6 | 6 | 17 – 22 | 50 |
| 8 | 8 | 32 – 52 | 60 – 80 |
Ranges indicate the combinations available within each shank family. Confirm the exact cutting length and overall length for your program when ordering.
Coated taper end mill for aluminum

A tapered geometry with a fine tip radius and a controlled included angle, used where the operation needs a small tip with a rigid body — detail cutting in aluminium profiles, lettering and fine profiling in ACP, brass and bronze.
| Shank (mm) | Tip angle | Tip radius (mm) | Overall length (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 15° – 30° | 0.25 – 1.0 | 50 |
| 6 | 20° – 30° | 0.5 – 2.5 | 50 |
Tip angle and tip radius are ground to the required value; confirm the combination for your application when ordering.

Frequently asked questions
What are aluminum cutting router bits used for?
Cutting and profiling non-ferrous metals and plastics: aluminium alloys and pure aluminium, brass, bronze, aluminium composite panel, acrylic, PC board, PVC, nylon, bakelite board and fibreglass board. The single flute end mill covers edge work and profile cutting; the tapered end mill covers detail and fine profiling.
Can a standard wood router bit cut aluminium?
Not well. A wood geometry is designed to shear fibre, not to clear the stringy chips and control the heat that aluminium produces. Aluminium tooling uses a single-flute, highly polished geometry for exactly that reason, so the correct tool family matters more here than in woodworking.
Should I choose the uncoated or the rainbow coated version?
Uncoated gives the sharpest edge at the lowest cost and is usually enough for short runs and mixed work. The rainbow coated version is normally chosen where the tool runs continuously in production and the extra edge life is worth the additional cost.
When do I need the tapered tool instead of the straight single flute?
Use the tapered tool when the operation needs a small tip with a rigid body — fine detail, lettering and profiling where a straight bit is either too large at the tip or not rigid enough at the required reach.
Can I order custom sizes and tip angles?
Yes. Cutting diameter, cutting length, overall length, tip angle and tip radius can be produced to your drawing, and the tools are available uncoated or coated. Send your specification and we will review feasibility and sampling. See the OEM & ODM service.
